Biomarkers

Introduction   |   Current Research   |   Realisations

  • Recruitment of a specialist in cytogenotoxicity for micronucleus and chromosomal aberrations tests.

  • Recruitment of a specialist in the development of ELISA tests.

  • Development of methods for genotyping variants of genes coding for DNA biotransformation (CYP1A1, CYP1A2, CYP2E1, NQO1, PON1, GSTT1, GSTM1) and repair enzymes (APE1, ERCC2, XRCC1, XRCC3). These methods are now available to network members who want to include these measurements in epidemiological studies.

  • Implementation of micronucleus and chromosomal aberrations tests in lymphocytes or exfoliated cells of the buccal mucosa, as well as in invertebrate gill cells (sentinel animals). These tests are currently being validated in the context of epidemiological and ecotoxicological studies.

  • Development of methods to measure CYP1A1 and CYP2B6 activities in human placental microsomes. These methods are currently being validated in a population study in Nunavik.

  • Participation in the development of an environmental component for a large population genomics study (CARTaGENE).
