Drinking Water Contaminants / Pharmacokinetic Modelisation

Introduction   |   Current Reseach   |   Realisations

  • Development of models to:
    1. describe/predict the behavior of certain water contaminants (trihalomethanes (THM), trichloroethylene (TCE), nitrates) in the body,
    2. estimate the relative contribution of different routes of exposure (skin, lung, gastrointestinal tract) to the internal dose of some of these contaminants in order to evaluate their impacts on risks and exposure standards.
The final report is being completed.

  • A project using the RRSE environmental epidemiology platform to develop a toxicokinetic model that will be used for estimating the trihalomethane exposure dose (e.g., chloroform) in pregnant women from an existing database.
